TINA + RYAN | Colorful, Old San Juan Destination Wedding | Puerto Rico

What could be better than spending a weekend in January away from NYC in the absolutely perfect little town of Old San Juan, Puerto Rico? Being able to photograph this couple here was an absolute dream. Every corner looks like a movie set - and let's not forget about the piña coladas! The relaxed attitude and warm weather of a destination wedding makes for a very joyous bride and groom (and photographer!)

From the bride: We met the old fashioned way at a bar in Brooklyn. I was with a big group of girlfriends and Ryan came up to us and said, "Can I hang out with you guys? My friends aren't here yet." (His friends did eventually show up, so it wasn't a line. Either way, I thought it was brave!) We have been together ever since, a little over 6 years now, going to the beach any chance we get, baby talking to our dog Jenny, and making each other laugh the whole time.

Wedding Theme + Inspiration: Colorful, old world tropical - We wanted the architecture and vibes of Old San Juan to speak for itself.

Any special details?: Everything I wore came from someone important and dear to me. My earrings were my something old. My mom gave them to me a few years ago. They were the first pieces of jewelry she bought for herself when she immigrated to the United States. The jade ring (my something borrowed) was my grandmother's wedding ring, which my mom inherited after my grandma passed away. One of my closest friends from college very generously made my dress and one of my closest friends from high school did my makeup and hair.
