Q + A
Do you photograph weddings outside of NYC?
Yes, I do! I love to travel to new places. I've photographed destination weddings and elopements in Europe, Scandinavia, The Caribbean, and all over the US. Traveling is one of my favorite parts of my job. I'm based in Brooklyn and travel most often to LA + Mexico.
What do you charge to travel?
Travel within the boroughs of Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queens is included in your package price. The outer boroughs and anywhere about an hour outside of Brooklyn require a small travel fee. Beyond that, I charge only for the cost of the flight, 2 or 3 nights in a hotel, and a car rental if needed + the rate of your photography package.
What are your prices?
My wedding rates start at $4400, and couples invest around $5800 on average. All packages include the HiRes files, and an online gallery of your images. An engagement session is my gift to you and is included with all wedding packages as well. I love to work with creative couples on a budget whenever possible so if you're planning something extra special (Africa? Chile?) or extra small get in touch with me!
What if we're eloping?
I have specially priced elopement packages that start at $1800 for weekday elopements with fewer than 20 guests. I'm also very happy to customize a package for you depending on your personal preferences!
We want to hire you! What are the next steps?
Contact me to inquire about my availability for your date. Then I'll just need a 50% deposit and a signed contract! I'd also love to meet with you over coffee or a cocktail to discuss details and hear about the story of your relationship and your plans for the wedding!
When will we see our photos?
You'll receive your online gallery 8-12 weeks after the date of your wedding. Typically my delivery is closer to the 8 week mark but depending on the season it can take a bit longer. I edit, tweak, and perfect each image personally; I don't outsource to editing houses.
How many images will we receive?
This varies from wedding to wedding depending on guest count, wedding party size, and events planned on the day, but you can count on 50-100 images per hour of coverage. For example, with a typical 8 hour wedding, you can expect 400-800+ images.
What about prints of our photos?
I believe strongly in the power of a tangible photo! It's easy to order prints from your online gallery. You will also receive the HiRes files to make prints independently if you choose, but sometimes its more convenient to order via the gallery, especially for friends and family across the country or overseas. If you like, your package can include a set of 'Highlight' prints as well as a fine art album.
Do you work with an assistant?
For intimate weddings with fewer than 120 guests I usually work on my own. For weddings with more than 150 guests its a good idea to have a second shooter to help with coverage of the many moments unfolding, different angles and details, as well as wrangling large families for group photos.
