Arguably most people will tell you that starting off a marriage based on lies is a great beginning of the end, but for Annakate and Matt, Big Little Lies was actually the beginning of their beautiful life together.
Annakate and Matt worked together on HBO’s Big Little Lies but in different departments. It wasn’t until much later, when a chance interview unexpectedly turned into a first date and there’s no surprise why. Annakate is casual yet refined and so freaking beautiful I can’t stand it. Matt is sweet and silly and brings out her playful side.
Annakate and her family celebrated lots of events and milestones on her Grandmother’s LA Estate and it’s easy to see why. It was only fitting that they transform the space to serve as the backdrop of the next chapter in her family’s history. Witnessing their relationship and budding marriage play out in such a beautiful time and space is one of the highlights of my career as a photographer.

“Matt and I both worked on Big Little Lies, but in different departments so we didn’t know each other. After the show wrapped, Matt called producers asking for a referral for a job. They referred me, so we met at a coffee shop for the interview. We ended up talking for 2+ hours. For the wedding, Matt went back to the coffee shop and purchased the table/chairs we sat in that day. During his vows, he said he realized that he’d gotten to read my resume, but I had never heard his… so his vows were rephrased liked a resume ie; why he was qualified to be my husband. It was such a sweet surprise! Very sentimental, but also filled with humor.”
